Hi, I’m Kristen!
I’m a high school English teacher, proud English nerd, and the Teachers Pay Teachers author at Innovative English Instruction.
I’ve had the privilege of teaching a range of courses over my teaching career, including A.P. English Language and Composition, A.P. English Literature and Composition, Advanced Composition, Advanced Literature, Creative Writing, Adaptations of Great Books, and Mythology. A travel enthusiast, I infuse my lessons with artifacts from treks I make to the real and romanticized literary haunts of the world.
When I started teaching in 2010, I never could have imagined that my teaching journey would lead me to becoming a Teachers Pay Teachers author.
When I accepted a new teaching position two years ago, I had a toddler on one hip and a dozen new books to teach on the other. Knowing that I needed help with preparing lessons for my classes, I turned to TpT. The quality resources on TpT saved me so much time and effort that summer. And, as many TpT authors can relate, it also led to a suggestion from my husband: “You should sell your materials on Teachers Pay Teachers!”
I’m so grateful for TpT, not only for the experience of working alongside other teacher-authors but also for their great resources, which have enhanced my teaching.
Helping teachers bring engaging, unique English lessons to their students is my passion. I provide low-prep materials that I wish I had when I became a teacher.
